Digitale Plantencollectie Costerustuin officieel geopend

De heer P. Broertjes, de burgemeester van Hilversum, heeft op vrijdag 5 juli 2019 om 16.00 uur in de Costerustuin de officiële opening verricht van de digitale Plantencollectie.

Ruim twee jaar heeft een groepje vrijwilligers hard gewerkt aan dit project. De hele basiscollectie is onder de loep genomen en zoveel mogelijk ingericht volgens het Costerustuin-concept. Dit houdt in dat wordt vastgehouden aan het idee van een historische botanische tuin, ingedeeld aan de hand van de Geïllustreerde Flora van Nederland, uitgave 1909.

Onder het menu-item Plantencollectie op deze website kunt u allerlei informatie te lezen over 40 plantenordes en hun in de tuin aanwezige vertegenwoordigers. Deze informatie is nu ook toegankelijk voor bezoekers in het bezit van een smartphone. Strategisch in de Costerustuin geplaatste paaltjes (zie foto) met daarop een QR-code linken direct met de ordes. Het enige dat u hoeft te doen is de QR-code scannen met een daarvoor bedoelde app. U wordt onmiddellijk naar de betreffende orde op onze website geleid, en daar ziet u welke bijbehorende planten u in de Costerustuin kunt bewonderen. Klik op de naam of de foto van de plant en u krijgt verdere uitleg en enkele wetenswaardigheden te lezen.

Welkom in de Costerustuin

De Costerustuin is een historische botanische tuin. Het is ook één van de meest toegankelijke botanische tuinen van het Gooi. Iedere dag – van zonsopkomst tot zonsondergang – is het mogelijk gratis te genieten van deze kleurrijke oase met een groot aantal inheemse planten, struiken, bomen en een vijver. Tuinbankjes geven zicht op de vijver en diverse doorkijkjes. De planten zijn niet naar kleur of bloeitijd gerangschikt, maar naar plantenfamilie. De naambordjes spreken voor zich. Daarop zijn te lezen de familienaam, de Latijnse en de Nederlandse naam.

De tuin ligt aan de Zonnelaan 4-Z. De ingang is naast het appartementencomplex Schuttersheide. De tuin is te bereiken via een smal toegangspad. Daar staat een informatiekast waarin gratis folders liggen met een plattegrond van de tuin. Lees meer over de tuin en het gedachtengoed van Jan Costerus…
